This is an all photoshop portrait of a friend of mine. I painted it in very small increments over a few weeks. My own photo reference was used (included below). I made some obvious improvements over the photo in color and facial detail. Adeline (the model) posed when I adjusted the facial expression. The original photo reference and some wips are below.

This samurai is my guinea pig for trying out some new ideas. I used a hard-round brush for the entire underpainting and a few different rougher brushes to give the appearance of texture.

This is about 6-7 hours including all my experimenting.

This is an update to my portrait of G.I. Gurdjieff, founder of the Fourth Way. I used a composite of references mainly for his face and my own hands as a model for his. I built it up and tore it down lots before I got something I liked. I was playing around with the background and decided to use a painting of some fabric that I did for another project. Everything was done in Photoshop CS.
